Symbols and Realities of Islam

Imam Bilal will guide us through an in-depth look at the word "Islam" as it is used throughout the Qur'an, from the most universal aspect, to the prophetic revelation, and the historical manifestations. Going beyond the "five pillars," "peace," or "surrender," we will take an insider's approach to this controversial subject, using Sufi methods of interpretation, contemplation, and (perhaps) realization. This study seeks to reach a more compassionate understanding of all the world's religions.

All are welcome. No knowledge of Arabic required.

Dream Interpretation

This is a rare opportunity for small group study of the Sufi tradition of dream interpretation with Imam Bilal. The practice of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) was, after the Fajr dawn prayers, to ask his Companions (r.a.) to tell their dreams for interpretation. This intensive Dream Interpretation Workshop will draw on principles from Hadith and from the traditions of the Knowers and Friends of God.

Contact Hilal (hilal_sala@yahoo.com) or Subhana (subhana@mindspring.com) for more information, location, and directions.
